The Lectrosonics UFM144-A1B1 is a wideband UHF filter/amplifier module designed for RF system engineers and production audio professionals who need to extend antenna coverage or distribute signals across multiple wireless receivers without degrading signal quality. Placed at the antenna, it applies gain ahead of long coaxial runs and compensates for cumulative loss introduced by splitters and cable in multi-channel distribution systems. It is well suited for touring productions, broadcast field units, corporate AV installations, and any application where receiver density and cable distance challenge RF link reliability.

Two ceramic resonator filters at the input suppress out-of-band interference before gain is applied, which minimizes intermodulation products and prevents amplifier overload in congested RF environments. The high-quality GaAsFET amplifier stage delivers strong linearity, reflected in a +41 dBm output third-order intercept point, making it a technically sound choice over generic inline boosters that sacrifice IM performance. Gain is set via internal jumpers to match the actual cable and splitter loss in a given system, so the amplifier compensates precisely rather than over-driving the receiver input.

A constant-power switching regulator accepts 8 to 16 volts DC, keeping current draw and heat dissipation predictable across a wide supply range. This is particularly valuable in mobile field production racks where thermal management and battery compatibility both matter. Power can be sourced from an external supply or via DC bias on the RF output jack from a compatible Lectrosonics multicoupler or Venue receiver, simplifying cabling in permanent installations. The cast aluminum housing with rugged BNC connectors and a thread-locking power jack is built to survive repeated setups in live production environments.
