The Lectrosonics UFM230 series is designed for RF engineers and wireless system technicians who need to distribute antenna signals across long coaxial cable runs or split them to multiple receivers without degrading signal integrity. By placing the module directly at the antenna, gain is applied before cable loss, keeping the noise floor low and the signal clean at every receiver in the chain. RF filtering ahead of the amplifier stage suppresses intermodulation products and prevents frontend overload, making the unit reliable in dense RF environments such as large theatrical productions, broadcast facilities, and multi-channel touring rigs.
The unit pairs naturally with passive splitters to form an effective antenna multicoupler. Operators match the jumper-selectable gain setting to the measured loss through the coaxial run and splitter, dialing in compensation without adding active noise to the chain. The cast aluminum housing and rugged BNC connectors are built for repeated field deployment as well as permanent rack or wall installations. Power arrives either from an external DC source or via phantom power from a UMC16B multicoupler or a compatible Venue receiver, eliminating the need to run a separate power cable to the antenna position.
The switching regulator keeps current consumption and heat dissipation low across the full input voltage range, which matters in mobile field production where battery headroom and thermal management are ongoing concerns. Both models in the series share a 230 MHz filter bandwidth sized to cover standard Lectrosonics frequency blocks, and the frequency range variant should be selected to match the blocks in use at a given venue or market.
