Lowell 8" dual cone speakers with transformer are engineered for commercial installed audio applications where consistent voice paging and background music distribution are required. These drivers are built around a 15W, 8-inch dual cone design using a 10 oz. ceramic magnet, hard fiber whizzer cone, and a 1-inch voice coil housed in a 20-gauge stamped steel frame with zinc-plated finish. The combination of a wide frequency response and a 95-degree conical dispersion pattern makes them well suited for suspended ceiling grids, retail environments, corporate lobbies, restaurants, and other distributed audio installations where even coverage is a priority.
The integrated transformer eliminates the need for a separate matching network, streamlining installation labor. Available in 25V/70V dual-voltage and 70V single-voltage versions, with power tap options ranging from 5W to 8W, these speakers can be matched to a wide range of 70V distributed amplifier systems. Multiple wattage taps on each transformer give system designers fine control over relative zone levels without requiring additional attenuation hardware. Grilles and enclosures are available separately, keeping the driver-only price competitive for multi-zone projects where custom or architectural enclosures are preferred.
With a 7.625-inch mounting bolt circle and shallow assembly mounting depth, the 810 series fits standard commercial ceiling applications. Average sensitivity of 97.9 dB means these drivers produce useful output levels at modest amplifier power, which is a practical advantage in large distributed systems where aggregate load is a design constraint.
