The Lowell 8XD4 is a recessed steel enclosure designed for permanent installation of 8-inch speaker drivers in ceiling or wall applications. It is built for AV integrators and systems contractors who need a reliable, code-friendly back can that simplifies rough-in and delivers a finished look without improvisation on site.
The 4-inch depth suits standard plenum and drywall ceiling installations where cavity space is limited. Five knockouts, including one in the top panel and four on the sides, give installers flexible conduit entry from virtually any direction. Included clips and compatibility with screw-mount grilles keep the installation process straightforward. The slight taper on the enclosure allows units to be nested for compact jobsite storage and transport.
A white powder-coat finish is standard, making it appropriate for finished interior spaces. The included foam pad provides basic acoustical treatment inside the cavity. At 0.147 cubic feet of internal volume, the 8XD4 is sized specifically for 8-inch drivers and is sold individually, ordered in multiples of ten, making it practical for multi-room commercial installs or large distributed audio projects.
