The Lowell ACSPR-1509 is a 1U rackmount AC power distribution unit designed for installed AV systems, broadcast facilities, and production racks where power quality and surge protection are non-negotiable. It provides nine NEMA 5-15R outlets split across one front-facing and eight rear-facing positions, giving integrators flexible patching access without sacrificing rear rack density.
What separates this unit from basic rack PDUs is its Advanced Multi-Stage Surge Suppression with TCR (Triple Clamping Redundant) technology. This layered clamping architecture protects connected equipment against surges and spikes up to 72,000A at full capacity, a specification that exceeds most single-stage suppressors found in comparable rackmount strips. LED status indicators provide continuous visibility into the health of the suppression circuit, alerting technicians when the unit needs service or replacement before connected gear is at risk.
A front-mounted rocker switch controls five of the rear outlets, allowing operators to manage power zones without reaching behind the rack. The remaining outlets remain live whenever power is supplied, useful for always-on devices like network gear or signal processors. A 9-foot attached cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug provides immediate connectivity without additional adapters. The included 10-year warranty on TCR technology reflects the long-term reliability expectations of installed AV environments.
