The Lowell CS650-SS is a combination wall unit designed for installed audio systems running 70V or 25V speaker lines. It consolidates a 50W autoformer attenuator and a six-source program selector switch into a single 2-gang form factor, reducing the need for separate control points in conference rooms, restaurants, retail spaces, and multi-zone commercial installations. The volume control delivers 33dB of attenuation across 10 steps, with the last two steps before off set at 6dB increments for smooth fade-out, a detail that matters in occupied commercial environments where abrupt cutoffs are disruptive.
The six-source selector uses a two-pole, non-shorting rotary design to maintain complete isolation between source lines during switching, preventing crosstalk in multi-source setups. Wiring connections combine plug-in screw terminations on the volume control side for prewire convenience with Euro-style screw terminals on the selector side, allowing the two sections to be field-configured as a combined unit or deployed independently at separate locations using the included 1-gang plates. Installers working with E.O. boxes or 4-inch square boxes with mud rings will find the 2-gang plate dimensions compatible with standard rough-in work. The stainless steel plate and black rotary knobs provide a clean, professional finish suited to corporate and hospitality environments.
