The galvanized steel box drops between standard 16-inch stud bays, eliminating the need for surface-mounted enclosures or exposed conduit runs in finished wall environments.

When wall construction limits usable depth, the edges can be removed to fit cavities shallower than four inches, making it viable in retrofit scenarios where wall depth is unknown until the work begins.
