The Lowell RCCD-4628 is a low-profile remote consolidation cabinet designed for AV integrators and network installers who need to mount 19-inch equipment in occupied spaces where rack depth and room intrusion must be minimized. At 28 inches tall and just over 11 inches deep overall, it fits flush against walls in classrooms, conference rooms, hallways, and other finished environments where a full-depth rack is not practical.
The dual-bay layout separates function by mounting orientation. The 4U upper section uses pivoting 11-gauge rails to hold shallow panel equipment horizontally, letting technicians tip the rails down for direct cable access without disturbing the lower gear. The 6U lower bay mounts 19-inch equipment vertically on dual-punch, adjustable rails that accept hardware up to 21 inches deep, covering most enterprise switches, media converters, and AV distribution amplifiers in common use. The deep front door provides isolated access to the upper section through a hinged, sloped top without requiring the main compartment to be opened.
Construction is 16-gauge steel with rear cutouts that fit over wall obstructions and simplify cable routing from the back. Knockouts in the top, base, and sides along with bridge lances and base vents that accept optional fan kits give installers the flexibility to configure conduit entry and airflow to match the specific installation. An included electrical box in the base and key-locked side panel complete a cabinet built to support permanent, professional AV and network infrastructure installations.
