The Lowell RSD-116 Series is built for AV integrators and rack system builders who need a dependable, dual-purpose mounting solution in 19-inch equipment racks. Installed flat, it functions as a utility shelf for equipment staging, cabling, or accessories. Flipped and fitted with the included handle, it becomes a shallow drawer with up to 1.58 inches of usable height, making it well suited for hiding patch panels, small tools, or documentation inside rack enclosures in broadcast, installed AV, and touring production environments.
The 16-gauge steel construction provides a rated load capacity of 80 pounds, giving integrators the structural confidence to mount heavier accessories without deflection. Rear supports extend up to 33 inches deep for compatibility with deeper rack enclosures, and the shelf requires both front and rear mounting rails. The black powder epoxy finish provides a clean, professional appearance consistent with standard rack aesthetics. Available in solid and vented base configurations, the series accommodates both enclosed and thermally managed rack environments. Each unit ships ready to install with no field fabrication required.
