Lowell's recessed steel speaker enclosures are purpose-built for permanent installation of 8-inch drivers in commercial and institutional ceiling systems. Designed around suspended tile ceiling grids, these cans give integrators a structurally solid, acoustically treated housing that fits cleanly above lay-in ceilings without exposed hardware or surface-mount compromises. The enclosures are available in multiple depths to match the plenum clearance and acoustical requirements of different job sites, making them adaptable across a wide range of install conditions.
Each enclosure is fabricated from welded unitized heavy-gauge U.S. steel and finished in black powder epoxy, delivering the durability required for above-ceiling environments where access is infrequent. Acoustical treatment is included to reduce resonance and keep high-frequency reproduction clean after the ceiling is closed up. Mounting provisions accommodate both torsion-mount and screw-mount grilles, and built-in knockouts and clips simplify conduit routing and speaker placement during rough-in.
