The Martin Audio CDD8W-WR is a surface-mount passive loudspeaker designed for AV integrators and system designers who need consistent, wide-coverage performance from a discreet enclosure. The coaxial driver arrangement achieves true point-source summation of the low- and high-frequency sections, eliminating the off-axis frequency response variations common in non-coaxial designs. A static waveguide integrated into the unique cone shape maintains dispersion uniformity out to very high frequencies, addressing the beaming problem found in conventional coaxial drivers. The result is more even audience coverage across the listening area, with relatively more output reaching the rear of the space and wide horizontal coverage close-up.
For installed AV applications in live music clubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, museums, convention centers, houses of worship, and retail environments, the CDD8W-WR offers the flexibility needed to accommodate varied venue geometries. The driver can be rotated for horizontal or vertical orientation without tools, since the perforated steel grille removes without screws. Six M6 inserts accept optional wall and ceiling brackets, allowing the curved enclosure to sit close to building surfaces for a clean, low-profile result. As a stand-alone system or as an infill loudspeaker within a distributed array alongside larger CDD models, it scales to project requirements.
The CDD8W-WR is a passive, full-range two-way system rated at 200W AES and should be driven with a compatible controller that provides appropriate limiter settings. When paired with a Martin Audio DX controller or iKON amplifier, FIR-based DSP presets unlock maximum system fidelity while protecting the drivers. The white RAL9016 finish integrates cleanly into light-colored architectural environments.
