The Martin Lighting VC-Feeder is a compact, multi-protocol driver box engineered for use with VC-Dot LED pixel strings in demanding permanent and touring installations. It accepts 48VDC input and delivers clean, regulated 15VDC output to downstream VC-Dot strings regardless of cable run length, eliminating voltage drop concerns that affect untreated direct-drive systems. Available with BBD or M16 hybrid connectors, the VC-Feeder carries both power and data over a single cable, significantly reducing infrastructure complexity on stage rigs, architectural facades, ceiling installations, and broadcast environments.
System integrators and lighting designers working within the Martin P3 ecosystem benefit from automatic protocol detection, which allows the VC-Feeder to adapt to either P3 or DMX512 control without manual configuration. Integration with the P3 System Controller family enables 16-bit-per-color image processing with gamma correction, color temperature control, calibration processing, and frame synchronization. Addressing and pixel mapping are handled intuitively through the P3 interface, removing the time-consuming patching workflows common to competing pixel driver solutions.
The extruded aluminum housing carries an IP65 protection rating, making the VC-Feeder suitable for permanent outdoor installation as well as indoor touring environments. Surface mounting is accommodated via M6 slots, and a dedicated M12 hole supports standard truss rigging clamps, giving riggers flexible placement options close to the pixel string. Daisy-chaining multiple VC-Feeders via the hybrid thru connection scales the system without additional infrastructure, and integrated thermal monitoring with automatic shutdown protects the unit during sustained high-load operation.
