The Neutrik NC3FXX-BAG-D is a 3-pin female XLR cable connector from the XX Series, engineered specifically for large cable outer diameters in the 8-10mm range where standard XLR connectors fall short. It is aimed at audio engineers, systems integrators, and production companies that need reliable terminations on heavy-gauge mic cables, multicore tails, and touring looms where cable pull-out force and contact integrity are critical.
The XX Series builds on Neutrik's established XLR platform with meaningful mechanical upgrades. The improved solid metal latch is larger and easier to operate under load-in conditions. The chuck-type strain relief delivers higher pull-out force than traditional collet designs, speeding up assembly without sacrificing retention. A polyurethane boot gland protects the cable entry point from repeated bending stress, making these connectors appropriate for fixed installation as well as touring rigs that see daily coil-and-uncoil cycles.
On the electrical side, a unique cage contact geometry minimizes contact resistance, and a solder barrier prevents solder from wicking into the mating area during termination. Additional ground spring contacts improve shell ground continuity, which matters in noise-sensitive audio environments. The black KTL-coated zinc diecast shell and nickel-plated locking element are built for a rated lifetime of over 1,000 mating cycles. Supplied bulk-packed in multiples of 100, this SKU is suited for shop stock, rental inventory builds, and large-scale cable manufacturing runs.
