By accepting the most common pre-terminated RJ45 plugs, it converts a standard network cable into a robust, lockable connector assembly without requiring specialized termination tools or pre-configured cable assemblies.
At the core of this carrier is a zinc diecast shell with a unique chuck-type strain relief that resists pull-out forces and cable flex damage — two failure points that plague standard patch cables in stage boxes, network-dependent DSP systems, and Dante or AVB audio networks. The flat spot on the housing aids orientation during fast connections in low-light environments, a practical advantage on stage or in rack installations. Each unit ships with two cable protection elements supporting a range of cable diameters, and optional color-coded boots in nine standard colors are available for channel or zone identification.
Installers and engineers should note that this carrier does not include an RJ45 plug — a pre-terminated RJ45 cable assembly must be supplied by the end user. Additionally, this product does not intermate with the CAT6 chassis connectors NE8FDY-C6 or NE8FDY-C6-B, so panel compatibility should be verified against the appropriate etherCON chassis series before deployment.
