The Neutrik NE8MXR-B-TOP is built for AV integrators, touring engineers, and production crews who need a field-terminable ethernet connector that won't fail under outdoor or high-cycle conditions. Unlike standard etherCON variants, the TRUE OUTDOOR PROTECTION shell fully retracts, enabling direct mating with conventional RJ45 jacks — a critical advantage when patching into venue infrastructure, broadcast panels, or FOH racks without adapters or patch bays designed exclusively for etherCON receptacles.
The zinc diecast shell and chuck-type strain relief handle the mechanical abuse of repeated deployment, while the IP65 rating — achieved both in mated condition with Neutrik etherCON TOP receptacles and when sealed with the SCMX-TOP cap — keeps moisture and dust out in exposed installs. UV-resistant F2 certified materials and a V0 flame rating make it appropriate for permanent outdoor installations and temporary festival rigs alike. Halogen-free construction meets the environmental and safety requirements increasingly specified on commercial and institutional AV projects.
This connector is designed for unterminated cable with an OD of 5.5 to 8.0 mm and does not include an RJ45 plug — the end user supplies the RJ45 assembly. Note: this product does not intermate with NE8FDY-C6 or NE8FDY-C6-B CAT6 receptacles. For integrators standardizing on etherCON TOP infrastructure, this carrier connector removes the compatibility compromises that come with fixed-shell alternatives.
