The ProCo Sound CDPM Power Mute is built for broadcast engineers, disc jockeys, sports announcers, boardroom AV integrators, and live production technicians who need reliable, configurable microphone signal control at the source. Unlike passive muting devices, the CDPM is an active unit that accepts any balanced or floating low-impedance microphone or signal source and gives the operator full control over how the switch behaves in the moment.
Three operating modes are selectable via internal DIP switches: momentary press-to-mute, momentary press-to-talk, and latching mic on/mic off. This makes the CDPM suitable across a wide range of production workflows — from panel discussions where a chairman holds the floor to remote sports broadcasts where a talent switch must double as a footswitch. A green/red status indicator confirms mic condition at a glance regardless of which mode is active, eliminating guesswork during live air.
The enclosure is built with a 16-gauge steel top and 11-gauge steel base finished in black epoxy, providing structural durability and magnetic shielding against 60Hz AC hum — a critical consideration in broadcast and recording environments with dense electrical infrastructure. Tool-free battery compartment access, anti-skid feet, a ground lift control, and professional-grade XLR connectors round out a design suited to both permanent install and repeated field deployment.
