The ProCo Sound iFACE is built for FOH engineers and production teams who regularly need to route consumer audio sources — laptops, MP3 players, iPods, CD and DVD players — into professional mixing consoles without introducing noise or ground loop interference. Rather than relying on passive direct boxes that may not handle stereo consumer outputs cleanly, the iFACE provides purpose-built interfacing with both a 3.5mm stereo mini input and discrete left/right RCA phono inputs, giving engineers flexibility with any portable source device.

What separates the iFACE from generic DI solutions is its use of ProCo Sound MBT-1 Microphone Bridging Transformers on the outputs. These audiophile-grade transformers are magnetically shielded in mu-metal cans and electrostatically isolated with dual Faraday shields, delivering near-ideal rejection of RFI, EMI, SCR dimmer interference, and 60 Hz hum. The result is a clean, low-distortion signal on balanced XLR male outputs suitable for direct connection to any console's mic preamp input.

For installations and live events where grounding conditions vary between portable battery-operated sources and house AC systems, the onboard GROUND LIFT switch resolves hum and buzz without rewiring. A MONO switch provides passive input summing when a dual-mono feed is required from either XLR output. The Uni-Box enclosure — extruded aluminum sides with 16-gauge steel panels — protects all connectors and switches from stage-level abuse while adding a further layer of magnetic shielding to the internal circuitry.
