The ProCo Sound iGATE is built for engineers and integrators who need a clean, reliable way to connect multiple heterogeneous audio sources to a professional mixing console without adapters, kludged patch bays, or noisy ground loops. It serves simultaneously as a microphone pass-through, a transformer-balanced direct box, and a stereo line-level interface for MP3 players, laptops, iPods, and consumer CD or DVD players — all inside a single 1U rack space. It is well suited for permanent installation in houses of worship, meeting rooms, clubs, and theaters, as well as portable applications such as remote broadcast, one-man-band rigs, and touring front-of-house positions where input consolidation is critical.
All outputs except MIC OUT are transformer-isolated using ProCo Sound's audiophile-grade mu-metal shielded transformers with dual Faraday electrostatic shields, delivering near-ideal common-mode rejection of RFI, EMI, SCR dimmer interference, and 60 Hz hum. The GND/LIFT switch resolves ground loops between battery-powered portable devices and AC house systems, affecting the COMPUTER/iPOD and LINE LEVEL IN L/R inputs specifically. A STEREO/MONO switch passively sums stereo consumer inputs to a dual-mono feed when a mono house system is in use, and unused input pairs can be repurposed for unbalanced mono recording feeds.
Construction is 16-gauge steel and aluminum with a durable black texture powder coat finish, black anodized aluminum side channels, and laser-engraved legends on all controls. Top-quality connectors and switches are spec'd for reliability under demanding remote and permanent-install conditions, and the unit mounts in any standard 19-inch rack.
