The ProCo Sound LS82 is built for audio engineers and system integrators who need reliable electrical isolation across multiple line-level signal paths in live sound reinforcement, installed audio, and remote broadcast environments. By splitting each of eight line-level inputs into a direct output and a transformer-isolated output, the LS82 solves the real-world problem of feeding two destinations from one source while simultaneously breaking ground loops that introduce noise or create shock hazards in complex multi-equipment systems.
The LS82 uses ProCo Sound's LOT-P transformer to deliver floating, low-impedance outputs with wide, flat frequency response and ultra-low distortion — characteristics that electronically balanced or transformerless differential circuits cannot reliably match under fault conditions or improper connections. This makes it particularly valuable when driving long cable runs from active crossover outputs to power amplifier inputs, where SCR lighting dimmers, RF transmitters, and AC power wiring introduce interference that transformer isolation suppresses more effectively than any active circuit.
Phoenix COMBICON plug-in screw connectors on LINE IN, DIRECT OUT, and ISO OUT terminals simplify integration into permanent installs and touring racks without requiring specialized connectors. The GND/LIFT switch enables buzz-free operation across virtually any grounding environment. Housed in a 16-gauge steel and aluminum Uni-box enclosure with powder coat and anodized aluminum finish, the LS82 mounts in any standard 19" rack and is built to withstand the demands of both permanent installation and portable production use.
