The ProX XC-MXF05 is a 5 ft. unbalanced cable designed for live sound engineers, DJs, and production teams who regularly need to connect a 3.5mm stereo source, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or voice recorder, to a mono XLR input on a mixing console or powered speaker. Rather than leaving channel summing to chance, this cable is wired to combine the Left and Right channels from the 3.5mm TRS plug into a single mono signal on Pin 2 of the XLR3-F connector, which is the correct approach for feeding a stereo playback device into a single-channel XLR input without signal loss.
At the core of the cable are 20 AWG oxygen-free copper conductors chosen for low oxidation risk and long-term signal integrity across repeated use in live environments. The 93% braided OFC copper shield provides strong rejection of electromagnetic interference, which matters at the stage, at a DJ booth, or in any environment where wireless systems, power cables, and lighting fixtures are in close proximity. The compact cable diameter also helps reduce eddy current interference that can introduce coloration in poorly constructed cables of this type.
