The Q-SYS CORE 510i Kit is designed for AV integrators and systems engineers deploying mid-to-large-scale installed audio, video, and control systems. Running on a dedicated Linux realtime operating system built atop Intel hardware, it delivers the processing headroom required for unified AV infrastructure — from multi-room conference environments to large-venue distributed audio and control. Its eight onboard I/O card slots accept any combination of Q-SYS Type-II I/O cards, supporting analog, digital, and bridged network audio including Dante, giving integrators the flexibility to tailor I/O to project requirements rather than working around fixed configurations.

In Q-SYS Core mode, the 510i handles audio, video, and control processing concurrently — including AEC for conferencing, AV-to-USB bridging, multitrack playback, and full Q-SYS Control engine operation. An I/O Frame mode allows the unit to function as a 128x128 networked audio I/O expander feeding a separate Q-SYS Core processor, enabling scalable system architecture without redundant processing investment. Peripheral integration spans the full Q-SYS ecosystem: networked amplifiers, touchscreen controllers, paging stations, network microphones, cameras, and loudspeakers all operate under a single Q-SYS Designer software environment, reducing per-project training overhead and simplifying lifecycle management.

External device control via TCP/IP, RS-232, and GPIO makes the 510i viable as the control backbone for complex rooms requiring third-party device integration. Rear plates (RP1 Kit) are included, and the chassis ships ready for I/O card population, making it a complete starting point for configured system builds.
