The Q-SYS PL-LA 8 series is engineered for audio integrators and system designers specifying front-of-house coverage in small-to-medium venues: corporate auditoriums, higher education lecture halls, entertainment spaces, and protected outdoor environments. The two-way bass-reflex architecture pairs an 8-inch neodymium LF transducer with a compression driver HF section, delivering 101.2 dB system sensitivity and 126 dB continuous maximum SPL. These output levels scale appropriately for distributed arrays in mid-size rooms without requiring supplemental fill loudspeakers.
What separates the PL-LA 8 from comparable passive installation line arrays is native ecosystem integration. Pairing with Q-SYS CX-Q Series 4-channel network amplifiers unlocks onboard voicings and filter sets developed specifically for this enclosure, compressing commissioning time compared to generic DSP workflows. The QSC LEAF Waveguide controls horizontal and vertical dispersion with precision, helping integrators achieve consistent coverage across the throw and eliminate destructive interference at array joints. Eight discrete splay angle positions give fine vertical shaping control during deployment, and integrated rigging hardware supports flown arrays without external brackets.
The IP54-rated impact-resistant ABS enclosure features stainless fasteners, a UV and corrosion-treated grille with hydrophobic stainless steel mesh, and an IP65-sealed input cup, making it a practical choice for covered outdoor venues and variable-humidity environments where standard installation cabinets would need additional weatherproofing. The series is available in black and white finishes to accommodate architectural specifications.
