The Q-SYS QIO-AES8x8 is purpose-built for AV integrators and system designers who need to connect Q-SYS networked audio infrastructure to AES3 digital devices without centralizing all I/O at the core processor. By separating I/O from processing, the QIO series lets installers place digital audio connectivity at the actual source or destination, eliminating long cable runs back to a central rack and simplifying system topology in corporate AV, performing arts venues, broadcast facilities, and houses of worship.
The QIO-AES8x8 accepts AES3 sources across a wide range of sample rates and converts them internally to 48 kHz for native Q-SYS processing. Up to four units can be daisy-chained on a single network run, giving integrators a practical path to distribute I/O across multiple zones or rooms without adding network infrastructure. Power-over-Ethernet support removes the need for a local power drop at each peripheral location, and the compact quarter-rack footprint accommodates both surface and rack mounting to suit tight equipment closets or distributed install points.
All configuration and monitoring are handled inside Q-SYS Designer Software and Q-SYS Reflect, with drag-and-drop integration that requires no third-party middleware or custom scripting. For installations where AES3 interoperability and rack-space efficiency are non-negotiable requirements, the QIO-AES8x8 fits directly into the Q-SYS ecosystem and scales cleanly as system demands grow.
