The Q-SYS QIO-AES8x8 is designed for AV integrators and system designers who need to bridge Q-SYS networked audio infrastructure with legacy or non-networked AES3 digital devices. By offloading local I/O from the core processing hardware, this peripheral fits cleanly into installed AV environments where flexible topology and scalable I/O expansion are priorities — from corporate AV systems to performing arts venues and broadcast facilities.
The QIO series philosophy separates I/O from processing, allowing integrators to place digital audio connectivity where signal sources and destinations actually live, rather than running long analog or digital cable runs back to a central rack. Up to four QIO-AES8x8 units can be daisy-chained on a single network run, making it practical to distribute I/O across multiple zones or rooms without additional network infrastructure. Power-over-Ethernet eliminates the need for a local power drop in many installations, and the compact quarter-rack form factor supports both surface and rack mounting.
Configuration and monitoring are handled entirely within Q-SYS Designer Software and Q-SYS Reflect, giving system designers drag-and-drop integration without third-party middleware or custom scripting.
