The Q-SYS QIO-FLEX4A is a distributed I/O expander designed for systems integrators building scalable installed audio networks around the Q-SYS platform. By offloading local I/O from central processing hardware, it allows audio and control connectivity to be placed precisely where it is needed — near displays, room controllers, or compact loudspeakers — without running long analog cable runs back to a core processor.

The QIO-FLEX4A is particularly well-suited for conference rooms, hospitality installs, education facilities, and corporate AV deployments where a mix of mic/line sources, third-party control systems, and small local speakers must be managed from a single device. Its two onboard amplifier outputs eliminate the need for a separate amp in rooms requiring low-wattage reinforcement, while the 4x8 GPIO block and RS232 port handle integration with room controls, lighting systems, and legacy serial devices.

Powered over Ethernet via PoE+ or an auxiliary 24 VDC supply, the QIO-FLEX4A minimizes infrastructure overhead. Up to four units can be daisy-chained on a single network drop, and up to two can share a daisy-chained DC power feed, making it a practical choice for multi-room rollouts where conduit and cabling are constrained. Management and signal routing are handled natively within Q-SYS Designer Software, keeping commissioning consistent with existing Q-SYS workflows.
