Ideal for mobile entertainers, AV productions, clubs, and performance venues, QSC’s KS118 subwoofer is as powerful as it is compact. Delivering high output that can be used singly or paired with other units, this high-output sub features multiple placement and coverage options, making it a versatile piece of gear that’s easy to incorporate in sound systems of all shapes and sizes.
The KS118 can be used as a sound system’s only sub or paired with other units to cover more area and afford more low-frequency energy. It boasts an onboard DSP menu that enables you to array two or more KS units in a forward/backward cardioid configuration with 15 dB of rearward rejection. This onboard DSP also optimizes and protects system performance. From the menu, select “Forward” for the units toward the listener and “Rear” for the units facing away. The menu also allows you to specify side-by-side or ground-stacked setups.
When used as the only subwoofer in the setup, the KS118 is capable of supporting a stereo pair of top loudspeakers. If possible, place the sub in the center between the pair for the most even coverage; if this layout isn’t practical for your space, placing the subwoofer off to the side will usually produce satisfactory results as well. An M20 threaded pole receptacle accepts a 35 mm pole (sold separately), allowing you to vertically array the sub with full-range loudspeakers.
Powered by a 3600W Class D amplifier driving a single 18” direct radiating driver, the KS118 delivers high SPL with dynamic sound reproduction of very low frequencies. Built for confident transportability, this sub boasts a rugged enclosure with ergonomic handles for easy lifting, as well as four low-noise casters that save your back and allow you to roll the sub where it needs to go.
