The RapcoHorizon DBBLOX is a compact passive direct box built for live sound engineers, recording engineers, and systems integrators who need dependable impedance conversion at the source. It accepts unbalanced high-impedance signals from instruments and devices via a 1/4" mono input and delivers a balanced low-impedance signal through an XLR male output, making it well-suited for feeding console mic preamps cleanly across long cable runs.
Where active DIs require phantom power or batteries, the DBBLOX relies on a DBT transformer for signal conversion, eliminating power dependency on stage or in fixed installations. Its compact chassis fits tight racks, floor positions, and permanent install termination points where space is at a premium. For reverse applications — converting a low-impedance source to a high-impedance load — RapcoHorizon also offers the DBBLOXF variant with an XLR female input and 1/4" output, making the BLOX platform a flexible toolkit for a range of signal matching scenarios encountered in touring, installed AV, and studio environments.
