The RapcoHorizon PB-8 is built for press conference environments, broadcast feeds, and any live production scenario where a single microphone source must be distributed to multiple destinations without ground loops or phantom power bleed. Eight discrete transformer-isolated outputs ensure that each feed is electrically independent, making it safe to route simultaneously to news agency recorders, broadcast trucks, and mixing consoles without signal interaction between recipients.
A dedicated loop output gives the house engineer or system operator the flexibility to feed a main mixing console — including access to phantom power for the source microphone — or to chain a second PB-8 for expanded output count when larger press pools demand it. Because the isolated outputs block DC via transformer coupling, downstream recorders and preamps receive a clean, interference-free signal without risk of phantom voltage appearing where it is not wanted.
Recessed XLR connectors protect against accidental cable pulls and connector damage in high-traffic press environments. The steel chassis provides the physical durability expected in installed and touring applications where the unit may be deployed repeatedly with minimal supervision.
