The RCF BS 8 is a spherical suspended speaker built for installers specifying 100V distributed audio in large open-plan spaces. Hotels, shopping centers, airports, houses of worship, and covered outdoor venues benefit from the omnidirectional 360-degree horizontal coverage pattern, which eliminates the dead zones common with directional ceiling speakers when coverage distance is wide or ceiling heights are irregular.
The 8-inch dual-cone wideband driver delivers voice-intelligibility-grade reproduction across its operating bandwidth, making the BS 8 a practical choice for background music and paging systems where speech clarity is a requirement alongside music. The integrated 100V step-down transformer offers three switched power taps, giving the integrator per-speaker level control on a shared line without adding external attenuators. A carabiner clip and safety steel wire ship in the box alongside the 5-meter suspension and connection cable, reducing the need for separate hardware orders on multi-speaker installs.
The plastic spherical enclosure and grille are finished in RAL 9010 white, a neutral tone that suits finished architectural ceilings. At just over 5 pounds, the BS 8 is light enough to suspend from standard pendant cable without structural reinforcement in most install environments.
