The RCF CS 6940EN is a two-way passive column speaker built for integrators and systems designers who need reliable, code-compliant audio coverage in permanent installations. With EN54-24 certification and an IP66 protection grade, it qualifies for use in fire alarm voice evacuation systems and can be deployed indoors or outdoors without additional weatherproofing measures. Target environments include houses of worship, transit stations, subways, airports, and large public spaces where consistent speech intelligibility across wide horizontal angles is critical.
Operating on a 70V or 100V constant-voltage distribution system, the CS 6940EN fits directly into existing paging and distributed audio infrastructures. Five selectable power taps from 2.5W to 40W give installers the flexibility to balance coverage and load across large speaker arrays without external attenuation. Ceramic screw terminal blocks on both input and output support flameproof cable installations, and a thermal fuse protects line integrity if the enclosure is exposed to elevated heat. A ground screw is included for installations that require it. The all-aluminum cabinet, grille, and bracket construction keeps the unit lightweight while meeting the durability standards expected in transit and public-facility deployments. Recommended companion amplifiers include the RCF DXT 3000, DXT 4000, and DXT 7000 series for a fully validated signal chain.
