The RCF DU 60EN is built for integrators specifying voice evacuation and emergency public address systems where EN54-24 certification is a code requirement. Its 5" full-range twin-cone transducer provides wide 180-degree coverage suitable for corridors, lobbies, atriums, and open-plan spaces where uniform intelligibility across all listening positions is critical. The unit supports flush and semi-flush ceiling mounting as well as wall installation, giving designers flexibility when routing cable or adapting to varied architectural conditions.
What separates the DU 60EN from standard background music ceiling speakers is its fire-rated construction. The ceramic input and output terminal blocks accept flameproof cables and retain conductivity at elevated temperatures, satisfying the survivability requirements demanded by life-safety codes. An internal thermal fuse protects line continuity if heat exposure exceeds safe limits, while all internal wiring uses flameproof leads throughout. A ground screw is provided for installations where earthing is required by local regulation.
The constant-voltage transformer taps at 100V with four selectable power settings from 0.75W to 6W, allowing system designers to balance coverage density against amplifier load when configuring distributed arrays. RCF lists the DXT 3000, DXT 4000, and DXT 7000 as compatible drive amplifiers. The all-steel body and grille in RAL 9016 white meet the durability expectations of permanent installed sound applications and blend with standard commercial ceiling finishes.
