The RCF HDL 38-AS is built specifically for production teams and system integrators who need a high-output, flyable bass module to partner with the HDL 30-A line array. Its compact baltic birch plywood cabinet incorporates array fittings and an M20 threaded pole mount, allowing it to be rigged as part of a flown system for theaters, houses of worship, and large indoor venues where ground-stacked subwoofers are impractical or unsafe. The 18-inch neodymium woofer with a 4.0-inch voice coil is engineered for maximum linearity and low distortion across its 30 Hz to 140 Hz operating band, making it a clean low-end foundation rather than a one-note sub.

The onboard 3200W peak class-D amplifier runs on convection cooling, eliminating fan noise that would compromise quiet theatrical environments. RDNet is built in via Ethercon connectors, so sound engineers can monitor amplifier status, adjust presets, and respond to system faults remotely without accessing the cabinet directly, which is critical when the sub is flown overhead. Soft limiting and thermal and RMS protection circuits keep the amplifier and driver safe during extended high-level playback. The white RAL 9003 finish suits venues where a black enclosure would be visually disruptive against light-colored soffits or facades, while the same cabinet is available in black for conventional staging environments.
