The RCF HVL 15-P is a large-format, three-way passive loudspeaker designed specifically for long-throw reinforcement in stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters, and large outdoor venues where controlled directivity and extreme output are required. It combines dual 15-inch woofers, dual 10-inch midrange drivers, and dual compression drivers in a bi-amped configuration, with an internal passive crossover handling the midrange-to-high-frequency transition. This architecture lets system engineers assign dedicated amplifier channels to the LF and MF+HF sections, maximizing dynamic headroom and system control without additional active components at the cabinet level.
Where comparable large-format systems rely on ferrite magnets and composite cabinet materials, the HVL 15-P uses neodymium transducers throughout all three driver sections, delivering high sensitivity and consistent output with reduced magnetic mass. The polyurea-coated Baltic birch plywood enclosure and epoxy-coated steel grille with water-repellent fabric backing make this cabinet suited for permanent outdoor installs and exposed festival or concert environments. Eight M20 rigging points on each side, top, and bottom panel provide the hardware redundancy expected in flown line-array or cluster configurations. The screw-terminal barrier strip connections are appropriate for permanent wiring in installed systems where locking connectors are not required.
With a directivity index Q of 18 and a 45-degree horizontal by 15-degree vertical pattern, the HVL 15-P is engineered for situations where coverage must be tightly focused over long distances, including upper-tier delay hangs, end-fire cluster arrays, and down-fill positions in large arenas. System designers specifying coverage for applications with strict SPL-over-distance requirements will find the combination of directivity control and 148 dB peak output directly relevant to those engineering targets.
