The RCF MQ 80P is a compact, horn-loaded 2-way sound projector designed for AV integrators and system designers who need dependable speech intelligibility and music reproduction in mid-size installed environments. Its 90-degree by 60-degree constant-directivity pattern allows units to be clustered in arrays of two or more, reducing installation points while maintaining smooth, even coverage across larger spaces. The IP55-rated enclosure handles both indoor and outdoor deployments, with a port that can be sealed for fully exposed outdoor installations.
Unlike conventional dome-tweeter surface mount speakers, the MQ 80P uses a horn-loaded compression driver with a phase plug, the correct approach for preserving intelligibility in wide, reverberant, or noisy environments such as atriums, transit facilities, houses of worship, retail spaces, and outdoor venue perimeters. The 100V constant-voltage transformer with rotary tap selection covers four wattage settings, letting integrators fine-tune coverage levels without rewiring. Eight-ohm direct operation is also selectable, adding flexibility for smaller zone designs. The included wall mount bracket provides multiple fixing points and aiming adjustment, keeping installation straightforward on a variety of surface types. The UV-resistant, self-extinguishing polystyrene enclosure with steel grille is built to hold up in permanent installations where long service life is a practical requirement.
