Each driver in the series employs an edgewound aluminum voice coil on a high-temperature Kapton former, a copper demodulation ring for extended upper-frequency response, and a 3-slot optimized geometry phase plug for even wavefront loading into the horn throat. The aluminum rear cover and front adaptor ensure a controlled transition from the phase plug to the exit interface, preserving pattern integrity before the horn. The vented suspension design reduces distortion under sustained high-level program material, keeping the driver dependable through long performance days or continuous commercial playback.
The ND850 range is offered in 1.4-inch and 2-inch exit throat versions, giving engineers flexibility to match the driver to existing horn inventory or new cabinet designs without adapters.
