The RCF ND940 is engineered for system designers, cabinet builders, and OEM integrators who need a high-performance compression driver capable of sustained high-SPL output across demanding professional applications. Whether specified for touring line arrays, installed foreground music systems, or custom horn-loaded cabinets, the ND940 delivers a 500 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range with 110 dB sensitivity, making it a direct fit for applications where clarity and power handling are non-negotiable.
RCF's proprietary Direct Drive Kapton technology joins the edgewound aluminum voice coil directly to the diaphragm without an intervening adhesive bond layer, improving transient accuracy and thermal efficiency compared to conventional bonded assemblies. A copper demodulation ring pressed onto the pole piece reduces inductance nonlinearity in the magnetic circuit, extending high-frequency linearity and reducing intermodulation distortion. The neodymium magnet structure keeps the assembly compact and lightweight relative to its output class, an advantage in multi-way cabinet designs where driver mass affects enclosure resonance behavior.
The four-slot, computer-optimized phase plug geometry controls air velocity across the diaphragm face, suppressing air distortion mechanisms that degrade output quality at high drive levels.
