The RCF ND950 series targets cabinet designers, speaker manufacturers, and systems integrators who need a high-performance compression driver in a compact form factor. With a 4.0-inch voice coil, pure titanium diaphragm, and polyimide suspension, these drivers are engineered for demanding live touring arrays, installed PA systems, and custom enclosure builds where reliability and consistent high-frequency output are non-negotiable. Available with either a 1.4-inch or 2.0-inch exit throat, the ND950 family fits a broad range of horn geometries used in professional two-way and three-way systems.
The neodymium magnet assembly delivers a 2.0 T flux density that keeps the dome assembly tightly controlled, improving transient response and reducing high-frequency distortion. A precision-pressed copper demodulation ring on the pole piece lowers voice coil inductance, extending the usable frequency response without added coloration. The 4-slot optimized geometry phase plug, machined from aluminum, manages air distortion across the diaphragm face, maximizing acoustic output and evening the power response delivered into the horn. The Kapton voice coil former handles high temperatures reliably under sustained program levels.
Where competing 1.4-inch and 2.0-inch exit drivers often require a compromise between power handling and compact size, the ND950 achieves 280W continuous program handling and 110 dB sensitivity in one of the smallest 4-inch driver footprints on the market. That combination makes it a practical choice for integrators replacing worn drivers in existing cabinets or for OEM builders specifying a new design where cabinet depth is constrained.
