The RCF VSA-1250-W MK2 is a multi-amplified vertical steerable array built for system integrators and audio engineers working in acoustically challenging environments. Houses of worship, conference centers, transportation hubs, and large retail spaces with long reverberation times demand precise coverage control, and this column addresses that directly. Individual DSP processing on each of the twelve drivers allows the vertical beam to be aimed and shaped in software, directing acoustic energy at the listening plane rather than ceilings and floors where reflections degrade speech intelligibility.
For installed sound applications, the slender extruded aluminum body integrates cleanly into architectural interiors, and the available color options allow the enclosure to disappear into the space. Wall mounting flanges are included, and EN 60849 monitoring support makes the system compatible with life-safety public address requirements. Onboard RDNet connectivity gives system operators full remote control and monitoring from a single network interface, eliminating the need for separate control hardware during commissioning or day-to-day operation.
Compared to passive column arrays that rely on fixed dispersion patterns, the VSA-1250-W MK2 lets the integrator tune vertical steering and beam width post-installation without physically repositioning the cabinet. The 1300W peak power supply and convection cooling keep the system running quietly and reliably without fan noise intruding into sensitive listening environments.
