The RCF ZM2124 is the master controller for the ZM 2000 installed audio system, designed for AV integrators building paging, background music, and emergency audio infrastructure in commercial environments such as retail spaces, hospitality venues, offices, and light industrial facilities. It combines a six-zone preamplifier and a 240W 100V line amplifier in a single 3U rack chassis, reducing rack space requirements and simplifying system commissioning compared to separate amp and matrix configurations.
The dual-bus architecture is the core operational advantage: Bus 1 handles selective and all-call paging with priority override, while Bus 2 carries music or ambient programming independently to each zone. Toggle controls on each zone allow operators to enable or disable background music without interrupting the paging path. Up to eight ZE 2200 zone expansion units can be added via FTP CAT 5 cabling, scaling the system to a maximum of 54 managed zones across nine connected units. Ten programmable GPI and ten GPO contacts enable integration with fire panels, access control, and third-party automation systems.
Input flexibility covers a wide range of source types: two XLR mic inputs with 17.5V phantom, two Mic+Line XLR inputs, two RCA line inputs, and three paging inputs via RCA and RJ45. A dedicated emergency audio input and auxiliary external amplifier input extend the system beyond basic BGM, making the ZM2124 a practical single-box solution for small-to-medium installs where per-zone power demands are moderate and operational simplicity is a priority.
