The sE Electronics BL8-U is a rugged, all-metal small-diaphragm condenser engineered for kick drum and high-SPL live sound and studio work. Its hand-crafted 1/2" true-condenser capsule and Class-A circuitry reproduce transient detail and low-frequency accuracy without coloration, making it equally at home capturing kick drum punch, cajon, acoustic piano, or room ambience. The dent-proof grille and gold-plated XLR connector survive touring abuse while ultra-low-noise electronics preserve clarity even on sensitive applications like grand piano miking.

The BL8-U stands apart with dual character voicing—Classic and Modern modes shape low-mids to emphasize punch, while center position retains neutral response for maximum versatility. Integrated 80/160 Hz low-cut filter and switchable 10/20 dB attenuation pad adapt the microphone to any source: control rumble on stage floors, tame proximity bass indoors, or manage hot kick drums without overloading console inputs. Maximum SPL reaches 143 dB at 0 dB, 153 dB at 10 dB pad, and 163 dB at full 20 dB attenuation.

Fully compatible with sE8 omni capsules (sold separately) and The Kelly Shu Flatz Isolation System for internal kick drum mounting. Simple mounting brackets enable quick installation on any flat surface—ideal for touring rigs, theaters, and houses of worship.
