The V7 X is a dynamic instrument microphone engineered for professional studio and touring use across a wide spectrum of instrumental sources. Designed as the instrument-focused counterpart to sE's acclaimed V7 vocal microphone, the V7 X combines a custom-tuned DMC7 X capsule with a supercardioid polar pattern to deliver isolated, high-fidelity captures of acoustic and electric guitars, bass cabinets, drums, brass, woodwinds, keyboards, and orchestral instruments. The capsule features an aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet for high sensitivity and consistent output.
The frequency response is deliberately voiced to balance smooth, detailed highs with extended, powerful low-frequency response, capturing the full spectrum of instrumental tone without coloration. The supercardioid pattern efficiently rejects off-axis sound sources, reducing stage bleed while providing substantial gain before feedback—critical for live reinforcement and multi-mic drum setups. An internal capsule suspension isolates the transducer from mechanical vibration and handling noise, delivering exceptionally clean reproduction.
Built for touring durability, the V7 X features a zinc-alloy chassis with a spring steel mesh grille, gold-plated XLR connector, and beveled grille edge that prevents rolling on amp tops and stage floors. Included are a red windscreen for outdoor work and a black windscreen for studio subtlety, plus mic clip, thread adapter, carrying pouch, and manual.
