The X1-A-U is a side-address cardioid condenser built for recording engineers, producers, and musicians who refuse to sacrifice sound quality for budget. Its newly developed capsule delivers the same balanced frequency response and exceptional SPL handling that made the original X1 legendary, now with refined engineering that competes with condensers costing several times more. Whether tracking lead vocals, overhead drum mics, room ambience, acoustic or electric guitar, piano, orchestral strings, or brass, the X1-A provides the speed and accuracy required for professional tracking without sonic coloration.
The dual-switch design addresses real-world recording challenges: the -20 dB attenuation pad extends dynamic range and enables close-mic techniques on high-output sources like fortissimo brass, heavy electric guitar cabinets, and kick drums, while the 100 Hz low-cut filter eliminates rumble, footfall noise, and proximity effect bloat when mic'ing at close distances. The rugged all-metal chassis provides RF rejection and years of reliable service in the studio or on location.
Powered by standard 48V phantom power, the X1-A connects via gold-plated XLR for loss-free signal integrity and includes a swivel clip and stand adapter for immediate deployment on any microphone stand.
