The SKB 3RS-11U20-22B is a purpose-built shock rack transport case for audio engineers, production companies, and AV integrators who need to move sensitive rack-mounted electronics between venues, job sites, or broadcast facilities without compromising gear integrity. The 11U configuration and 20-inch rail-to-rail depth cover the majority of standard rack builds, from DSP and amplifiers to routers and signal processors, while 2-inch front and rear lid extensions accommodate equipment that runs longer than the rack depth.
What separates this case from standard road rack alternatives is the internal elastomeric isolation system. Eight isolators absorb shock and vibration during transport, decoupling the rack chassis from the outer shell and providing sway space that also aids passive heat dissipation. The inner chassis uses aluminum alloy extrusions paired with 11-gauge hot rolled carbon steel rails meeting EIA-310 standards, and the square-hole rails accept both #10-32 US and 6mm international cage nuts. The roto-molded LMDP shell resists impact, heat, and chemicals, and the gasket-sealed lids with automatic pressure relief valve ensure watertight, dustproof protection in demanding field conditions.
Stacking ribs and lugs allow the case to integrate with SKB 3RR and 3RS cases as well as competitive brands, making it practical for multi-rack touring or installed staging rigs. Four spring-loaded comfort grip handles, recessed powder-coated stainless steel hardware, lid hangers, and included coupling straps complete a case designed for repeated, professional use rather than occasional transport.
