The Sonance IS8T is a flush-plaster-finished invisible loudspeaker — the pinnacle of Sonance's Designed to Disappear strategy, sized larger than the IS6T for broader low-frequency extension and additional SPL headroom. After installation, the speaker is plastered, painted, or wallpapered to match the surrounding wall or ceiling, so there is no visible cabinet, grille, or trim ring — only the surface finish the architect or designer specified.
High frequencies are produced by Sonance's Motion Flex Technology, a Wave Flex Drive Unit with a bending-wave diaphragm driven by a 1.75-inch (44 mm) voice coil. Low frequencies are generated by an Air Flex Woofer that uses an air-pulse diaphragm powered by an 8-inch (203 mm) carbon-fiber woofer. The 70V/100V transformer makes the IS8T compatible with commercial distributed audio infrastructure. Backed by a 15-year limited warranty, the IS8T suits luxury hospitality, retail, museums, galleries, and high-end residential architecture where the speaker has to disappear into the finished surface.
