The Sonance PS-C85RTBF is the baffle-only variant of the Professional Series PS-C85 high-output in-ceiling loudspeaker, engineered specifically for commercial AV installations where a dedicated back can or acoustic enclosure cannot be incorporated into the ceiling structure. It pairs with the PS-C85BB back box for a complete system, giving integrators the flexibility to source and position the enclosure independently. This configuration is well suited for hospitality, corporate, retail, and house-of-worship installs where architectural constraints drive the build-out approach.
Driven by an 8-inch aluminum cone woofer and a 1.4-inch neodymium compression driver, the PS-C85RTBF achieves 93dB sensitivity and a 117dB maximum SPL, delivering the headroom commercial audio systems demand without requiring external amplification upgrades. Selectable horn or collar dispersion lets the installing engineer tailor coverage to the room geometry at commissioning time, reducing the need for additional loudspeaker positions. Full 70V and 100V distributed audio support with Lo-Z operation keeps the loudspeaker compatible with virtually any commercial amplifier topology.
The trimless white round grille and included rigging hardware simplify a clean architectural finish, and the included transformer handles distributed line matching on-site. A five-year limited warranty from Sonance backs the installation for the long term, which matters on commercial projects with extended service agreements.
