The Sonance Professional Series PS-P85T is built for integrators and system designers specifying distributed audio in demanding commercial environments — houses of worship, convention centers, atriums, and large retail spaces where both speech intelligibility and musical bandwidth are required. The two-way pendant configuration combines an 8" aluminum cone low-frequency driver with a coaxially mounted 1.4" neodymium compression driver, delivering the coverage consistency and SPL headroom that surface-mount and ceiling speakers in the same class typically cannot match at equivalent install heights.
Where this speaker earns its place on a spec sheet is in the coverage control system. The collar and horn assembly ships in the box and installs in the field, giving the engineer the ability to commit to either a 120° or 80° symmetric pattern after the enclosure is hung — a practical advantage in projects where ceiling heights or floor plans shift during construction. The integrated laminated-core transformer supports 70V and 100V distributed systems with user-selectable taps from 15W through 120W, plus an 8-ohm bypass for direct-drive applications.
The polypropylene enclosure carries a UL94V-0 flame rating and IPX4 water resistance, satisfying the compliance requirements of UL 1480A and NFPA 70/90A for life-safety-adjacent installs. Input wiring terminates via a four-pin Euroblock with loop output, keeping daisy-chain runs clean in multi-speaker distributed arrays. For integrators who need to match aesthetics or meet finish specifications, the PS-P85T is available in White (RAL 9003) and Black (RAL 7021).
