The Sonance PS-S85T is engineered for integrators and AV system designers specifying high-output surface-mount loudspeakers in commercial and light outdoor environments. Its UL94V-0 polypropylene enclosure carries an IPX4 ingress protection rating, making it a credible choice for covered exterior applications, atriums, natatoriums, and large-venue interiors where moisture exposure is a concern. The UL 1480A, CSA-C22.2 No.205, NFPA70, and NFPA 90A certifications satisfy the compliance requirements typical of commercial construction projects and fire-rated distributed audio systems.
At the heart of the design is an 8" aluminum cone woofer paired with a coaxially mounted 1.4" neodymium compression driver crossing over at 1500Hz. The integrated laminated-core transformer supports 70V and 100V distributed systems with user-selectable taps up to 120W, allowing system designers to optimize coverage without external transformer boxes. The interchangeable collar and horn assembly — included in the box — enables field adjustment between 120° and 80° axis-symmetric coverage patterns without requiring additional parts on order, a meaningful advantage during commissioning or zone reconfiguration.
Suspension points on the top, bottom, and rear of the enclosure provide flexible surface-mounting geometry, and optional C-bracket compatibility gives installers additional positioning options. The Euroblock input with loop output facilitates clean daisy-chain wiring in distributed runs. For projects where a matched aesthetic is required, the PS-S85T is available in both White (RAL 9003) and Black (RAL 7021) finishes.
