The Sonance VXXT6R is designed for AV integrators specifying high-performance audio in environments where standard in-ceiling speakers cannot survive. Its IP66 environmental rating makes it a direct solution for covered outdoor spaces, natatoriums, commercial kitchens, and other moisture-dense installations where long-term reliability is non-negotiable. The 6.5" polypropylene cone woofer with Santoprene surround and waterproof Ferrofluid-cooled cloth dome tweeter are engineered to hold up under sustained exposure, not just occasional splashes.
Architecturally, the VXXT6R gives integrators real flexibility without sacrificing the protection rating. Sonance XPC grille retention secures the grille reliably while still allowing removal for service. The speaker ships in a round trim configuration, but optional trimless and square grille aesthetics are available separately, letting the fixture disappear into virtually any ceiling plane. This makes it a practical choice for high-end residential installs, hospitality projects, and commercial builds where the audio infrastructure cannot visually compete with the interior design.
With a sensitivity of 89dB and power handling up to 125 watts RMS at 8 ohms, the VXXT6R covers a broad frequency range suitable for full-range background music and paging applications without supplemental subwoofers in many installations. The wide 45Hz to 20kHz response at plus or minus 3dB positions it well above the performance baseline expected from a weather-resistant fixture in this class.
