The Televic D-Cerno AE is a 1U rack-mount central control unit designed for AV integrators and conference system installers deploying digital discussion systems in small to medium-sized meeting rooms, boardrooms, and council chambers. It manages delegate microphone control, audio routing, and system operation for configurations up to 50 units standalone, expandable to 250 units with D-Cerno NEXT network extenders. Its fanless design eliminates background noise concerns during sensitive recordings and extended sessions, making it well suited for rooms where acoustic performance is critical.
For integrators connecting third-party systems, the D-Cerno AE provides AES67 over LAN, balanced XLR analog inputs and outputs, and a multi-channel USB-C audio interface supporting 8x8 DSP mode. This allows direct connection to external DSPs, recording solutions, and broadcast chains without additional interface hardware. Hybrid meeting workflows are handled natively: plugging in a USB-C cable presents the unit as a UAC2 audio device to any meeting platform, with a hands-free microphone mode supporting up to 16 open microphones simultaneously using speaker detection.
Daisy-chain wiring over shielded CAT5E across four bus connections supports both branch and closed-loop topologies. The loop configuration activates fail-safe redundancy so a single cable break does not interrupt a session. An integrated web server gives operators full remote control over microphone modes and recording settings. Recording can be written to 3 GB of internal storage, an external USB flash drive, or captured directly to a PC via the multi-channel USB connection, with MP3 and WAV format options and selectable bitrates.
