The Light Source Inc. Mega-Batten Clamp is engineered for riggers, lighting directors, and production teams who need a dependable, rotation-resistant pipe batten attachment. Its two-piece wrap-around design compresses firmly around the batten on both sides, eliminating the pipe slip that single-piece clamps commonly allow under dynamic load conditions in touring, theatrical, and installed venue environments.
Fastening is accomplished with two 5/16"-18 TPI socket cap screws driven by a standard 1/4" hex driver, keeping installation straightforward without specialized tooling. The nominal 1/2" hole at the top of the clamp accepts up to a 7/16" shackle pin, quick link, or turnbuckle jaw, making integration into existing rigging hardware straightforward. CNC machining from 3/16" thick 6061T-6 aluminum ensures dimensional consistency across units — a critical factor when hanging multiple fixtures on a single batten.
The black anodized finish resists corrosion in humid stage environments and reduces light reflection from overhead positions. With a 1,250 lb working load limit and compatibility with 1.5" pipe through 2" OD tube, this clamp covers the pipe batten sizes most common in professional entertainment and installed AV rigging without requiring multiple SKUs.
