The TOA BS-1030 series is a compact, 2-way bass-reflex surface mount speaker designed for permanent installation in commercial paging and background music applications. Its wide frequency response makes it equally suited for voice intelligibility and music playback, covering venues such as retail spaces, schools, houses of worship, hospitality environments, and covered outdoor areas. The series is available in black and white finishes to accommodate different installation aesthetics.
A key advantage for integrators is the selectable impedance operation via rotary switch, allowing a single speaker model to run on 8-ohm low-impedance systems or on 70V and 100V distributed audio lines without additional transformers or hardware. IPX4-rated splash-proof construction means the speaker can be installed under eaves and in semi-exposed locations where direct rain exposure is avoided, expanding the range of viable install positions beyond typical indoor-only speakers. The included mounting bracket reduces sourcing overhead and simplifies deployment across multi-zone projects.
Compared to fixed-impedance surface mount speakers, the BS-1030 series offers integrators genuine system flexibility. Whether a project calls for a direct-coupled zone or a long transformer line run, the same speaker handles both scenarios. The ABS resin enclosure and steel plate grille are finished in powder coating for durability, and the cabtyre speaker cable accommodates direct field wiring without proprietary connectors.
